Muree is a beautiful city of Pakistan located in the northern area of Punjab. Thousand of Tourist visit the Muree every Year and enjoys their holidays. But Nowadays Muree is facing a very harsh weather condition that took the lives of people. About 20 thousand vehicles reached the Muree in previous last 3 days. According to the Federal Minister of Information, about 1 lakh vehicles reached the Muree this year in 2022.
But due to unusual snow falling the wether of Muree become death for its tourist.

Around 1,000 cars were stuck on the hill station while the Punjab chief minister issued instructions for expediting rescue work and providing aid to the stranded tourists.
Moreover, entry of cars into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Galiyat was banned, according to the province’s chief minister.
According to a list issued by Rescue 1122, 21 people died, including nine children. The deceased include an assistant sub-inspector of Islamabad police and seven members of his family.
Snowstorm
According to the local administration, rain and blizzards are forecast tonight in and around Murree, with thunderstorms at a speed of 50-90 kmph and heavy snowfall.
The administration has warned the citizens not to leave their homes in severe weather or turn to Murree as severe weather conditions are likely to continue till late at night.
Murree received five feet of snowfall, it said, adding the roads leading to the hill station were closed on the night of Jan 6 with people advised to avoid traveling to the area yet tourists in the large number reached there.
The report said the roads have not yet been cleared and the rescue operation has started.
Punjab declares Murree calamity-hit area
The Punjab government has declared Murree as a calamity-hit area after heavy snowfall wreaked havoc in the city. Taking notice of the chaos and emergency situation, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has directed to open the government’s offices and rest houses for the stranded tourists.
Troops called in for assistance
In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) regarding the rescue operation, the army said a Control Division has been established at Murree Division.
In order to facilitate stranded tourists, rescue centers have been established at Army Public School and Army School of Logistics in Kuldana, it said, adding that food and other essentials, including heating, were being provided to the tourists.
It said the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and Pakistan Army engineers were working round the clock to assist people, adding that heavy machinery has been deployed to clear roads.
“Where machinery can’t reach, troops have been moved and they are clearing traffic and opening roads,” it added.
